These are the blocks I was working on during the last Quiltathon and I finally finished them today. I’m going to a retreat next week and this is one of the tops I hope to get finished while there.
This is about as scrappy as it gets for me . . different ecru, light blue and dark blue fabrics.
This past Thursday I finally got around to sending my laptop to the shop. It had been broken for a couple of weeks. I blogged about it here. Anyway, I sent it off Thursday via UPS. It had to go to FL and it was scheduled to arrive there on Monday. On Monday afternoon, I received an e-mail with a tracking number that it was being shipped back to me. This afternoon, it arrived .. fixed! Can you believe that? They got it and fixed it the very same day it was received. This makes Office Depot my favorite store in the whole world.
My laptop sits on a desk in my kitchen and I never realized how much I use it til it wasn’t there. Isn’t that the way it always happens? When I’m waiting for water to boil, the sink to fill, the hamburger to brown, . . I’m sitting at the laptop. These past two weeks I found myself standing in the kitchen feeling kinda lost. I guess that’s a sad reflection on my addiction to the computer. It’s not just the internet; much of the time I’m doodling on EQ.
All is well in my little spot in Missouri! 🙂

Judy, So you like to multitask, as the saying goes, “A watched pot never boils” and watching hamburger brown is in the same family as paint drying. So you get twice as much stuff done……like right now I’m washing clothes, drying clothes, washing dishes and still managing to get some computer time in……addicted to the computer…….no….. using time effeciently!!!!
I love the quilt, looks great scrappy.

That looks like fun and with the Tri ruler I got for the quilt for an hour the stars are easy! Hmmm, another project and I have not even finished the QFAH.

I also love keeping the scrappy colors in the same color family. Although the various colors in scrap quilts are wonderful, I also love some organization with it as well. Love this one! Reminds me of the blue willow dishes that you find in antique stores.

I like the quilt!
What retreat are you going to….teaching?
Thanks for trying to reply to my e-mail. I saw it blocked you. I think I fixed the problem so I can read your kind words again

We’ve been toying with the idea of getting a laptop for a while now. I like the idea of having it in the kitchen – used to play music while cooking – look up recipes. Maybe on the next bonus check or income tax return. 😉
Have fun on your retreat. I have never been on one before – but will be going next spring to NH to meet up with some online friends for a retreat.
I hope you post about getting ready to go – and all the things you plan to take…. any tips would be great!
Love from Texas! ~bonnie

Great blocks! I have a laptop that keeps me company and allows me to ‘multi-task’ (or at least i like to think it does – it can be quite distyracting sometimes 🙂

love this quilt also! these stars are just eye catching. i also like to control my scrappiness, at least corralling some of the colors. kinda makes it sparkle.
i am almost finished sewing the star blocks and then on to the very best part…….squaring them up ugh.
but i see progress and am loving it every time i see it.

Its beautiful! I love the scrappy look best!
That is wonderful and incredible about the quick return of your laptop. Wow!
Glad all is well. The sirens have gone off the last two nights. I think a nap to catch up on the sleep I lost will be needed this weekend! Have a good weekend!

Judy, I had my laptop in the kitchen also. I finally moved it upstairs to my sewing room, and now since I still like to use it just as much, I’m getting a ton more exercise by running up and down those stairs 20 times per day 🙂
Love the scrappy quilt!
