Done and Ready for Quiltathon

Front of Betty\'s Quilt

This is the quilt I’ve been working on for the past week. My friend, Betty, has The Village Mercantile in Boonville, Indiana, which was my local quilt shop when I lived in Kentucky. The Village Mercantile is such a neat shop. The shop hop for their area (southern Indiana) is June 21 – 28 and here’s the website for the shop hop. If you’re in that area, or can get to that area, you might want to check out the shop hop.

Anyway, I quilted Betty’s quilt. The them is Sunflower Summer. You can contact Betty if you might be interested in a kit for this quilt. The quilt is just beautiful. I so much miss not seeing all the new fabrics. I always feel bad when I say I like the back better than the front but I only mean that in the sense that the quilting shows up on the back and hardly shows up on the front at all.

Here’s the back of Betty’s quilt. I was determined to do this quilt without feathers but I just couldn’t do it. The green strips around the blocks begged for feathers.

And, here’s a closer shot of the back side. I hope Betty likes it. I still have it here and she hasn’t seen it yet but I have her permission to post photos.

And now . . the major huge, heavily quilted top is done and I’m free to do what I want to do for two days because . . IT’S TIME FOR A QUILTATHON!
