Mom and Dad get here tomorrow . . finally! This is the first time they’ve been here and I can’t wait. They’ve been known to arrive at my house a bit earlier than expected so I called them about a dozen times today and said “where are you?”. They were either home or around home . . or so they said! Since I’m such a rotten housekeeper, they think it’s so funny to surprise me and watch me scramble.
When I was a kid, I always wanted a little lamb. I begged my Dad for a lamb and I could usually get what I wanted from him but he never budged on that lamb. He promised me that when I got a place of my own, he would buy me a lamb and he brings that up often. Every time they visit me, I’m very happy for them to drive up and get out of the vehicle . . without a lamb! Dad . . I no longer want that lamb!
I’m about as ready as I can get I suppose. The house is fairly clean. I’m still waiting on Vince to dump the vac so I can vacuum the upstairs. I may have to figure out how to do it myself.
Today I made bread, sweet potato pie, fudge and spiced pecans. I’ll bake a cake in the morning and get a pot of soup to simmering so we’ll have a nice, yummy dinner when they get here.
The plan is that they will be here til 12/28 so if I’m not around as much as usual, it’s because I’m visiting with my family!! Don’t worry about me, ok?
I’m sure I’ll be back before Christmas but for those of you who may be leaving to visit your families, I want to wish you all the very best Christmas, or whatever holiday you happen to be celebrating. I appreciate each and every one of you out in blogland who reads my blog and a big thank you to those who let me know that you read it and appreciate it.
Be safe, stay warm and let your family and friends know how much you love them!
