I finished these socks last night and this is probably the first pair of socks that I’ve made that I’ve been kinda disappointed with. This is Lisa Souza Sock! yarn and while I’ve knitted her yarn before and always been pleased, these socks just don’t seem to match at all. The one on the left was the first one I knitted and I liked it but could tell that by the time I got down to the toe, the yarn was getting so much lighter. With the second sock (the one on the right side of the photo), there’s way more white in there and I think they look more different in real life than in the photo.
I started a new pair using this blue Opal Feelings, Color 1703. I’m liking the way it looks although I had been steering away from Opal yarns. Yes, I borrowed this picture from my favorite yarn shop, Simply Sock Yarn. She has a bunch of Opal yarns on sale so you may want to check it out if you’re in the market for some good prices on yarn.
I’m spending the afternoon on the longarm and then tonight I hope to have some time to work on the borders for the scrappy quilt I showed here last week.
