Blocks are 9-1/2″ finished. As, shown, the quilt will finish at 62″ x 81″.
Or, turn the blocks a different way and get this:
Here’s the block:
To make the block, cut one red (or blue) strip and 2 background strips 3″. Sew them together (ecru/red or blue/ecru). Then add a red 1-1/2″ strip to each side. Press the seam allowances towards the red or blue fabrics. Cut into 4-1/4″ sections.
Sew a 1-1/2″ x 10″ red (or blue) strip to one long edge.
To make the other part of the block, cut two red (or blue) strips and one background strip 3″. Sew them together (red or blue/ecru/red or blue). Then add an ecru 1-1/2″ strip to each side. Press the seam allowances towards the red or blue fabrics. Cut into 4-1/4″ sections.
Sew a 1-1/2″ x 10″ ecru strip to one long end.
Put the two sections together to make the block.
Blocks finish at 9-1/2″ so the same border measurements from last week will produce a 62″ x 81″ top.
