It is no secret that I’m not a fan of chocolate but you might remember that I fell hard for Aldi’s Hot Fudge Topping. Here’s a weird little tidbit of information: I will not drink storebought milk plain. I will drink raw milk. I will drink buttermilk and I will drink chocolate milk that I make at home – not storebought chocolate milk. I don’t drink it often and I think the last chocolate syrup I bought was the last time Addie was here. Recently I ran out and picked up a bottle of Aldi chocolate syrup.
I probably sound like a commercial for Aldi but really, almost everything we’ve bought there has been so good. This chocolate syrup is as good as their hot fudge topping. It makes me think I should stop saying that I don’t like chocolate.

Judy, you really need to quit that. 🙁

You really don’t want me to stop telling you about all this stuff you can’t live without, do you? 🙂

There hasn’t been an Aldi close enough for me to shop at consistently and your blog has made me so jealous! But I saw a banner by some new construction in my town a couple of months ago—an Aldi is going in! I’m so excited I’ll be able to buy all the yummy things you’re always getting.

Not all Aldi’s are created equal. We asked about the Apple Pie bars. One of the longest time employees said he’d never seen or heard of them. Several other items Judy has written of have not been at our Aldi. We are purchasing more at Aldi’s all the time.
Erin says
Yes I’m sure there are regional differences, but I’m still excited to eat in on the amazing deals on meat etc.

Well . . we bought the last box of apple bars Saturday. Vince was back in there today and he asked if they would be getting any more in and the girl said she didn’t think they had ever had them before. Yes . . Saturday!!

Chocolate just makes the day better in my opinion.

I’m kinda sad to say it but I think I’m starting to feel the same way.

Our Aldi just opened a few months ago, and I am so happy! I like most everything I’ve bought there, and you sure can’t beat their prices! I will have to look for the hot fudge topping next time.
Judy Laquidara says
If it’s like our store, good luck finding the fudge topping. They don’t often have it.
DonnainKS says
Hot fudge topping is a seasonal item so may not be available till summer. At least at our store. Get several jars in the fall if you might want in the winter any time! It is good!!!!
Judy Laquidara says
I think you’re right about the time of year. Last year I kept waiting and waiting for them to get more. The girl there said “Maybe for Valentine’s Day”. Didn’t happen. Then she said “Maybe for Easter”. Didn’t happen. Then it was May when it showed up. You just never know. That’s one way they keep prices down. The stores don’t order . . they have what is sent to them and it’s sent when they get it in.

I’m another person who doesn’t care for Chocolate. Like
you i will drink chocolate milk and I also love Aldi stores and brands. I’ll have to get some of this and try. Thanks for the heads up. Now enjoy a glass .

When you do, please remember to let me know what you think about it.

Check the label….. Chocolate flavored is not the same as Chocolate Syrup. I shop Aldi every week… some things yes and somethings NO!
Judy Laquidara says
Not sure what brand you’re referencing but here’s straight from Hershey’s website: https://www.hersheys.com/en_us/products/hersheys-syrup-chocolate-24-ounce-bottles.html
Life is sweeter with the classic taste of Hershey’s Syrup. Treat yourself to this genuine chocolate-flavored goodness by adding Hershey’s Syrup.
According to Wikipedia – Chocolate syrup is a sweet, chocolate-flavored condiment.
I could be wrong but I don’t think true syrup comes from cocoa beans (like maple syrup comes from a maple tree). I think all chocolate syrup is made with a mix of sugar or high fructose corn syrup and cocoa powder.

Aldi is a German comany, if I’m correct, so their chocolate things generally come from Belgium, where the world’s best chocolates come from! That’s why they’re so good!! Just about any chocolate from that area of the world is better than anything you can get that’s made in the states. That’s another reason I love Aldi. At Christmas time I can get my husband really good truffles that are really inexpensive, but still really good! I’m lucky that there are lots of Aldi’s in my area. There are at least 4 within 20 minutes of my house….same as WalMart!
Judy Laquidara says
I didn’t even think about them being chocolate experts. No wonder that stuff is so good! Not being a huge fan of chocolate, I was surprised at how much I like their chocolate syrup and hot fudge sauce.
Four stores within 20 minutes . . and some places have no Aldi. 🙂

We have two Aldis in my city and I have yet to shop at one. Guess I’d better get with it!
