On the knitting front . . I was traveling down Stash Reduction Avenue and hit a major bump in the road. In fact, you might call it a wash out! Of course, it’s all the fault of others and after reading the reasons why there’s new yarn in the house, I’m sure you’ll agree that none of this is my fault. Thank you . . because Vince is not buying my story at all.
First, there’s going to be a new baby this summer. No, not a brother or sister for Addie, but a baby who needs a knitted blanket. I found the perfect pattern and ordered yarn. I ordered yarn to make that because the colors needed to be navy and gold and Aran weight and washable and I didn’t have any of that. I’m not concerned about this yardage because I have to get this made right away so that yardage will be used up. So, for this purchase, I’m blaming the couple whose having the baby .. it isn’t my fault I had to buy yarn for their baby, right?
Then there was some sock yarn. I’m on a stashbusting group on Ravelry (right!) and someone made the most beautiful red, white and blue socks and I said “I love the yarn!” and she told me where she got it so it’s her fault I ended up with that yarn, right? Thank you! Honestly, the shop is Artistic Yarn by Abi and that’s the most amazing self striping yarns I’ve seen. I could be in deep trouble. But it’s safe for you because I think the patriotic yarn is all gone.
The pre-daylight pictures in my dark house don’t do the yarn justice but it is gorgeous. Left to right in my picture: Mardi Gras (which is sold out or I would order another skein of that!), Stars & Stripes, Dragon Fruit and Watermelon. And with each skein, they sent a matching themed stitch marker.
And there could have been four skeins of Miss Babs Hot Shot sock yarn that arrived. That’s another 1,600 yards.
So, you see, it wasn’t a great week as far as stashbusting but it sure was fun! One week of crazy buying can really screw up my numbers.
And I almost forgot that I finished a pair of socks .. 400 yards out!
Yarn Used (or removed) this Week: 400 yards

I have a couple of projects coming up and by the time I finish Miss Grace, I’ll be back in the black in no time.

Oh my goodness, that is some fabulous yarn you bought and that yarn site is going to make me go broke, and THAT is all YOUR fault! hehehehe That birthday yarn she has on her site and the peeps, and the…. well, they are all beyond fabulous! I’m going to have to find a job just to be able to buy more yarn!

Definitely not your fault – outside sources were conspiring against you, peer pressure – no question that you simply needed to have that yarn. 🙂

I understand completely ~ just way too much peer pressure! I would be so tempted, also! I love the yarns you purchased, especially the patriotic. I know how to knit but don’t because of all the quilting fabric that occupies too much of my house. So please enjoy the beautiful yarns for me! I look forward to seeing pics of the completed projects! Penny in S CA

Yes, I totally understand the pressure that made you buy more yarn, and it totally is NOT your fault. But how bad of you to show us such beautiful yarns and link us to it easily THEN tell me I can’t get the Mardi Gras or RWB patriotic because you bought the last one. lol Well at least I won’t be able to add to my stash–thank you! 🙂 I think I will just watch you make beautiful things with it and admire them from here.
