Yesterday I shared Addie’s sweater I dug out and started working on. All it needs are the sleeves and the button bands up the front. I did a little work on one sleeve yesterday but this should be a fairly quick and easy finished.

The qualifying pattern for Sock Madness 11 came out yesterday and I got started on that . . using stash yarn, of course. In fact, this is some yarn that was dyed by a lady in Nevada, MO that I bought while living there so it’s been in the stash probably 8 years or so.

The yarn isn’t nearly so fuzzy . . that’s just a very closeup picture while it’s still dark outside.
The pattern really causes my hands to ache so I’m having to take it slow, with lots of breaks in between knitting. The pattern came out yesterday about 2:00 and by 7 or 8:00, I saw that someone had already finished both socks. Amazing!
So, what’s on your needles?

There are some crazy fast knitters in Sock Madness. I got through the cuff and 3 rows of the pattern repeat last night. It is very hard on my hands too! I’m using size 0 needles too since there is absolutely no way a 72 stitch count sock is going to fit my super narrow feet. Even with the 0’s I may have to rip it out when I’m done and remove 16 stitches for them to fit me. Sigh. A 56 stitch count sock is about as big as I can go for it to fit me. I’m only planning to finish one sock–I just want to be a cheerleader. I may have to go hunt for my square needles. They are much easier on the hands.

I’m stealing that from Addie. Those are so my colours all together……..(hint, I’m a large)

I like the yarn for your sock. Sorry the pattern hurts your hands, How is is possible that someone can knit 2 socks in 5 hours? It must be bit needles, small feet and thick yarn. That is incredible.

Twisted Madness is *SO* hard on my hands! I think it took me twenty minutes last night just to get through a single round.
