Thank goodness for those tomatoes – even though they aren’t producing, they’re still growing and Vince is sure that if I keep them alive, I’ll have a fall crop. Two yards of fabric was cut into strips to tie them up.

I recently read that old pantyhose strips make great ties for vegetables. They’re stretchy and you can tie them securely but they won’t strangle the branches. So guess what I did? I cut all those no longer worn pantyhose into strips and gave it a try. It really does work great on all those plants I could never have grown successfully without your tomato planting tips.

It just cracks me up (makes me laugh) that you cut up quilting fabric for tomato ties! We pay $33 per metre – 1 yard 3 inches here in New Zealand. It is like gold!

I save all my edging(can’t think of what it is called) and it adds up fast. Place it in zip lock bags and give to my husband,he loves it.
