This is late! I started to write the post last night but I was drained! We were up at 5:30 this morning and have just now stopped long enough to photograph sweater and write report! Vince took off today and if this is what retirement is going to be like . . I’m too old . . we can’t do it! 🙂
We worked outside from daylight, even a bit before good daylight, then came in and had breakfast, took Speck to the vet. He’s been snorting and wheezing and having trouble catching his breath. At first I thought it was because he was old but it got worse so we took him in. His heart and lungs sound good but he has what would be an upper respiratory infection if it were us so he’s on meds and he’ll be good soon. Vince was with me and he’s saying “I’m in the wrong profession! $154 for a vet visit!” Yep and then there’s Rita and Boots . . critters are expensive! We got on the list today to get three barn cats but they won’t be making vet visits . . probably. They’ll come with all their shots and neutered.
Then we went to Walmart in the pickup to look for a pool for Addie and WM is totally out of hard plastic pools! 🙁 Then to Tractor Supply, then to Home Depot to rent a trencher and now we’re home so . . here’s the progress since the last time you saw my sweater.
It is so pretty (if I do say so myself!) My cables weren’t long enough to pull it all the way around, plus it has a wide front/buttonband (but no buttons) to be added so don’t think I made it too small.
I’m hoping I can get through the cable section and then if I have just the bottom ribbing, front bands and collar and sleeves, I can take that to Houston with me if I have to go. No way I can do those cables without messing up if I’m in a room with other people.
Anyone else have knitting to share?

Retirement can be very, very difficult and time consuming.

Judy, that is a beautiful sweater!
Waiting to hear what you’ve heard about your Mom. I know trying this can be and I continue to pray for her and for you.

Praying for your mom and hoping things go well, and for you that you are strong. I’m thankful your friend is there for you. I thought there might be more news this morning, but those things are so slow, aren’t they?

Yep that is exactly what my grandfather told me when he retired. That he worked harder then than when he worked a full time job. I didn’t think much about it till I got there and it is so true. Oh well we have grandkids to love so that makes it all better getting old I think.I keep telling myself that anyways.Love the sweater by the way too. Hope you can salvage it so you can wear it. If not maybe Nicole will get it. He!!HE!!!
