On my needles . . Laura Aylor’s cabled cardigan test knit.
The color is much brighter but this is my pre-daylight bad lighting photo.
This cardi is going to be gorgeous but oh, is it slow! All the right side knitted stitches except those for the cable, are knit through the back loop. No pain . . no gain I guess. It will be worth it in the end but for now, this seems like a project that will never get finished. To give you an idea of how slow it is, yesterday my goal was to end the day with 5″ of fabric beneath the armhole. I worked as hard as I could and ended with 2-1/2″.
How gorgeous are those cables? There’s a wide buttonband (though there are no buttons) that still goes down the front but that comes later.

Ktbl?!? Oh my. The progress you’ve made sure looks pretty though.

That’s going to be so pretty. Almost makes me want to do cables. 🙂 Although slow it may be to do, your back loop stitches are looking so pretty – what a great little added texture they make.
Donna says
Wow that is gorgeous with so much texture! You might even have it done by winter. (lol) It really is pretty.

Looks like you’re going to have another wonderful sweater, Judy. Thanks for explaining how you got that interesting texture as I’d been wondering about that. It’s the first time I’ve seen that stitch used for something other than ribbing and it looks great! ktbl is slow and ptbl is even slower…..

Gorgeous cables…they look so cuddly, soft and squishy! There are fun cables in the Jimmy Beans Wool Outlander mystery shawl right now.

Thanks! I love making cables. I’m not so much loving all those twisted stitches but I do love the look.

Love it. I think it will be added to my list when it’s available. I love Laura Aylor’s designs. What yarn are you using? Have you seen the Yak yarn at ESK? It’s a DK weight. Would that work for this sweater?
Diane says
I agree, that is going to be a very pretty sweater. I like the look of cables, I am just so slow when doing them. I’m much faster with the ktbl so I guess it all evens out. I’ll be looking for the release of that sweater.
