Sit down! Brace yourself! I finished a project! It hasn’t been soaked and blocked yet, nor have the ends been woven in but it is off the needles.
Pawley’s Shawl by Laura Aylor and the pattern is available. It’s big! It has texture. It’s great for wrapping up in. I love it because it isn’t too “fancy”, it isn’t too plain . . it’s just right! This will make amazing gifts for those on your lists that might like a shawl. It’s such an easy knit . . the pattern is real easy to memorize and it can be knitted without thinking too much.
I almost did this again for Camp Loopy because it does remind me of something that would have been made and worn back in the “Little House on the Prairie” days.
The yarn I used is Tesseract DK by Astral Bath. It is 75% Superwash Merino Wool, 15% Cashmere and 10% Silk. Need I say more? Oh . . yes . . one more thing . . it’s downright impossible to get. I keep watching the etsy shop to see if I can get more. I did sign up to get notified when there’s more yarn there but so far . . no more.
Lest anyone think I’m not knitting . . the next project is another test knit for Laura. It’s Sun Rose and it isn’t available yet but I will let you know when it is.
The yarn is Madelinetosh DK. The color is Night Bloom. I didn’t think about it but “Night Bloom” for the yarn and the pattern is “Sun Rose”. Those two things kinda go together, don’t they?
All Madelinetosh yarns are wonderful but DK is especially wonderful. I love yarn! 🙂
I finished Pawley’s Shawl yesterday just before dark, did the swatch for Sun Rose, soaked it and let it dry overnight and as soon as my morning chores are done, I’ll get busy knitting.

Love the shawl. I may find some yarn jumping into my cart at the Loopy Ewe when I place my Camp Loopy order.

That color is fantastic (that pattern would have also worked for my Camp Loopy project) – and “Tesseract” name of the yarn reminded me of my favorite books from when I was younger “A Wrinkle in Time” in which they deal with tesseracts. Ah Little House on the Prairie – that brings back more good book memories – next door neighbors had daughters about 6 yrs older than me who had the whole set of the books and had already read them all.. One summer they lent them to me – I’d read one, take it back and get the next.

That shawl is pretty! Can’t wait to see what Sun Rose looks like!!! I can’t decide if I want to do Camp Loopy this year or not. I HAVE been looking at possible patterns, but have not made a final decision.
