Here it is the end of February and I’ve finished three sweaters so far in 2014. I’m pretty happy about that. Wednesday evening I started Blue Sand Cardigan for Nicole. Once I figured out how to do the provisional cast on using waste yarn, the rest has been smooth sailing. There’s way more contrast in the tan and orange than is showing up in this picture. So far, it’s a fun knit but it has pockets and I think it has some form of I-cord, neither of which have I ever done so we’ll see how it goes.
If I get much knitting time today, I should get to where I split off the sleeves and that will at least make it look like I’m making good progress.

I-cords are incredibly simple! I have no idea about pockets…

That is fantastic that you’ve complete 3 sweaters in two months, especially since you just started knitting sweaters. It usually takes me at least a month to knit one. I can’t believe how much progress you’ve made on Blue Sands already!
I-cord is pretty easy. The instructions can sound a little confusing, but check out youtube to see how its’ done. The pockets I’ve knit aren’t incredibly difficult either, but I’m not sure how she’s having you knit them. Good luck!

No way!! Three sweaters, already?? Your fingers must be a big blur.

If you keep this pace up you will be out of yarn pretty soon. 😉
This is going to be an awesome sweater.

You are amazingly productive! I couldn’t even knit 3 baby sweaters that fast. Blue Sands looks like a very nice pattern!

I knit three sweaters this year — for dolls! I don’t think I’ve EVER finished an adult-sized sweater. I shouldn’t be so proud of that fact, should I? LOL! I-cord is easy, Amy is right about youtube.

I agree with the comments about I-cord and youtube.
Pockets… I have not tried them yet, but I don’t expect that you will have any trouble. You always seem to figure things out. 🙂 Can’t wait to see the finished sweater. Lucky Nicole!
