Even if you’re not doing this project, please come back and check the progress of those who are. The quilts are all so pretty!
For this month’s clue, we will be making 12 of the following block, which measures 8″ finished or 8-1/2″ unfinished.
Fabric 1: Cut 96 – 2-1/2″ squares
The remainder of the block will be half square triangles. I’m confident that by now, you all have your favorite method of making these. They will need to be 2-1/2″ unfinished.
Using Fabrics 2 and 3, make 48 of the above shown half square triangle.
Using Fabrics 1 and 3, make 48 of the above shown half square triangle.
To make this block, I like to assemble the center pinwheel type portion. Getting that center to match up is important.
Then assemble the two sides:
Add those strips to the left and right side of the center.
Then make the top and bottom sections and sew them to the center to complete the block as shown above.
If you’re up to date through the September clue, please share a picture. On Friday, I will draw for the winner . . who will receive a Stash Pack from Vicki Welsh’s Etsy Shop. When you need (or want) hand dyed fabric, please remember Vicki . . who sponsors this Mystery.

This is a beautiful pattern, and is on my to do list. I especially love the lavender/purple colors, my granddaughter’s favorites. I’ll either have to make it for her or change the colors if I don’t want to start something with the other 8 grands. If only I didn’t love the colors myself so much.
