Good News Thursday

Almost Had Extra Protein

Good news for this week:

  • All the parts to the loom were found, which is amazing, and it’s put together.
  • Bad weather was predicted for us, all the way across half the country, including where Chad & Nicole live.  We got nothing . . barely any rain, and it looks like southwestern MO didn’t get anything severe.  Looks like the area around St. Louis had a few tornadoes — sorry for the folks in that area.
  • We had temps predicted to drop to the mid 30’s but the Abilene station had said our temps could possibly drop into the high 20’s.  That would have ruined our fruit trees, and damaged our potatoes . . for a second time.  Our low last night was about 41.5 so . . no damage to the fruit trees, no damage to the potatoes and today . . I’m starting to plant tomatoes and peppers . . finally!

    N. Central TX escaped the bad weather also. However, the wind blew mightily Tuesday night along with buckets of rain (yay!) all night long, surprise hail Weds morning, and temps went lower in the daylight. Luckily, I had covered the new plants and left them covered all of cold Wednesday. Back to normal this today. Sun and 60 degrees will be welcome.

Wehn we worry about lows we watch the dewpoint, if it’s above 32 then most likely won’t freeze. Temperature can not go below the dewpoint. We still have another month to worry about lows.
    Hugs!!!

We had 34 this morning, supposed to be 30 in the morning, will probably cover plants tonight. We got an inch of rain and some wind but no damage, thankfully.
I am piecing my pieced border for Road to Round Rock today. I love this quilt and so does DH. THANKS, Judy.

The 3 office managers grilled brats, hamburgers, and chicken breasts for the entire office today! (It was rainy out too.)

I’m glad to hear your weather has turned so nice. It’s a slushy, wet mess here after the rain, sleet, freezing rain and thundersnow. It’s still snowing occasionally today. Spring will come, but it’s hard to be patient once you’ve had a few really nice days and then back to this.

We didn’t escape the bad weather, but we are safe and the ice is beautiful!

It was 20° yesterday morning so I am still apprehensive about planting my tomatoes and peppers. As for good news: there is NO wind today! 🙂

Nice weather would be nice. Finally got a inch of ice off the ramp. More snow for a while today and temp made it to 35 degrees. Could not believe how the grass is growing through the ice and snow.
