Yesterday several magazines arrived. Two particularly interested me.
These two, along with Mother Earth News, have become my favorite non-quilty magazines. I started last night with Hobby Farms. There are several articles in there about chickens and I loved the article about peas since mine are up and looking good.
For those of you who are sharing about good books you’re reading, thanks! I’ve found quite a few that look great and have been added to my Kindle.

Still reading Passages in Caregiving by Gail Sheehy. Can be depressing, but she includes her journey as well as celebrity friends and the information is excellent and pertinent to my life at the moment. Next week, on to a fun book after this. A favorite magazine I have read and loved for years is “Yankee” published in New England. Yes, it has articles on chickens, farming of all kinds, mountain tales and the best article I’ve read on Lyme. Disease which is now heading across the northeast and into Michigan. As a Texan, Judy, you would not be that interested as it pertains to one area of the country. Great recipes.

I’m reading The Intercept by Dick Wolf. A great thriller about New York and terrorists, good guys vs. bad guys, etc.

Still reading the Harbinger. Historical account for what is happening every 7 years of history. Very interesting. If you like history might want to read it for yourself.

I just finished reading “What Alice Forgot” by Liane Moriarty and I liked it so much that a I begged everyone in my book club to read it as an add-on to our next selection just so that I could talk about it to someone! It’s about a woman who comes to (after passing out) and finds she’s lost the last ten years of her life. The last thing she remembered was being pregnant with her first child… and the discovery of who she has become and what her life is now is a shock. Really got me thinking! It’s funny and sad and thoughtful by turns and it’s a quick read (maybe because I couldn’t put it down). Check it out!

Once upon a time, I lived out of Mother Earth News and the Foxfire series. I was sure we’d return to the earth someday. We never did, not in a big way, but I learned many useful things from reading those.

I just started The Hare With the AMber Eyes for one of my book groups. No opinion yet, I really did just start it. I’ll let you know next week.
