It’s done! The plan was to work on it an hour each day once I started making the other quilt but I’ve been struggling with the right blue for that quilt and haven’t started it yet so I got the March Color Palette top finished.
It ended up being about 65″ x 86″. The colors scared me when I first saw them but I really love this quilt.
Got sewing plans for this weekend? I do!

Very nice! I love the dashed border.
Pam in KC says
Very pretty. I like the “dashes” in the border. Last night my quilting buddies went to a “Dinner and a Quilt”. It’s a chance to get together and make a quilt quilt top. We used the time to cut fabric for a Boxy Stars quilt which will be raffled for a cancer survivor group. So, while I’m waiting for the call from work to tell me it’s my turn on the upgrade, I’ll be piecing this top.

Wow! That border really stands out. I love it.

Love the border! It really makes the quilt pop. Your borders are always special. Good job and you still have a week of March left.

All your quilts are so pretty and this one rates right along with the rest.
You have a knack for borders and I want to get your book on borders real soon. I love it when I’m reading a quilt magazine and find a book I want really bad, then see the book is written by you. Why does that not surprise me?
Doreen says
Wasn’t sure when you started this quilt but now, in “real life”, I love it……and the border is perfect (but “borders r u”! LOL!). Will be working on a QOV this weekend. Get out and do a ride tomorrow! Weather is definitely summer-like!

I have never liked basket quilts —— ’til now. This quilt is just so bright, beautiful, cheery and I absolutely love it. Never would have thought to use those colors. Love your pattern, so different but, also very traditional.
Linda in NE says
Great quilt, Judy. I liked it before, but now I love it!
Debi says
Love it Judy – the border really sets it off. I’m sewing today – trying to get the set out for a mystery quilt just right – actually put it all over my bed yesterday so had to sleep on the lounge last night – will finish the setting out today though!!
Rebecca says
It’s gorgeous! Aren’t you glad you “took the challenge”? Way to stretch yourself!
kathy says
That’s a great quilt! I love the dashes in the border and the way you put the black in the middle. It really adds a lot of interest. Great idea!
Dar says
Spectacular as usual, Judy. The colors are great together and who would have thought they worked so well. Speedy Gonzalas is your middle name.

Really like how that one turned out! The border sets it off so well. Very clever!
Mel Meister says
I LOVE the blocks and the colors, but not fond of the dark sashings or the dashed border. Not that my opinion means anything.. I went to art college and one of the things that I took away from that experience is that ALL art is subjective. It’s all “opinion”. So do what you love and who cares what anyone else thinks.
Annie says
Oooh, Judy, very nice, I love the colors and the whole composition!
Linda S says
That is really pretty. You are so fast, you amaze me. I went to a longarm meeting in Portland yesterday and did a little shopping at Fabric Depot while I was there. Mostly background fabric. I have such problems finding good backgrounds!
Maya says
Wonderful quilt!
Janine says
I love this quilt – who would have thought those colours could look so stunning! I really like the way this challenge throws up so many surprises 🙂
Michele says
Love, love, love it. The colors, the design.
I love the way you used sashing to make the rows equal in length. The border is wonderful too
Will you be putting the pattern for the blocks and or quilt on your web site? or in your next book?
Cheryl says
Wow – the March color palette is finished and its not even the end of March! You are good!!!!!
