This video has been all over facebook. This little girl, Jessica, is so worth watching. I watched it over and over and it makes me happier each time I see it.
When people ask me how I get so much done, I never know what to say because I don’t know what I do that everyone else might not do. One thing is that I love my life. I love my family. I love my house. I love my chickens. I love my stash. I love my life. My haircut . . let’s not go there since I just cut it myself again! 🙁 I can do anything, except cut hair! But I can only do everything if I’m awake and running full speed ahead.
There was a time when my alarm went off and I lay in bed trying to pretend that I didn’t have to get up, get dressed, go to work. Now, if I am still sleeping when the alarm goes off, I jump out of bed ready to start my day. I can do anything! 🙂
I do understand that some face circumstances that are hard . . real hard! Getting up and facing your day may not be as exciting and fun as getting up and facing my day but think about Jessica (the little girl in the video) when you start your day or when you’re feeling down. You can do anything but first, YOU have to believe that YOU can do anything. Each morning as you face yourself in the mirror, think about Jessica’s attitude and smile . . smile for Jessica who still believes she can do anything better than anybody else. Smile because you can do anything! I know you can!
Helen in Switzerland says
Oh that made my day Judy! When do we all stop believing that we can do anything? I so agree with you on being positive. Everybody has bad times, but it’s our own responsibility to make the most of what we have and make sure our lives are happy and full. Life is too short to waste and depression too hard to get out of when you get into it. 🙂 🙂
And the secret to tranquility and peacefullness – why quilting of course!
peggy says
Well, now I feel like starting my day, too! We all should get up on the counter and sing about the good things in our worlds.
JudyL says
I’ll sing the words but getting up on the counter . . don’t think I’ll do that part! 🙂
Diane says
I learned a long time ago happiness is a choice. I believe that with my whole heart. I can have bad things happen to me but I choose whether to let them rule me.
I also believe our attitude really is mind over matter. I can listen to a fast paced, happy song and get myself all energized for even the most dreaded work or I can sit and grumble and fret and never get it done or get it done but it will take longer and I will probably hurt myself doing it.
I’m with you, I love my life. I have been truely blessed. I have health issues (who doesn’t) but I try to keep them in the background and focus on the good.
I would love to get on the vanity and do the dance, but I am sure it doesn’t have the weight clearance. LOL

I need some of that!!
JudyL says
It’s there for the taking. Grab it each morning as you get out of bed! 🙂

Very cute…….I have a granddaughter named Jessica and I could see her doing that very same kind of a dance ON the countertop and singing similar words!!! I guess it comes from being young (dancing on the countertop!!!!) Good attitude, though…that’s for sure!
JudyL says
I love that she took off running. She had something on her mind and she was heading off to do it and . . to do it better than anyone else! 🙂

My group of Golden Girls, we sew bi-weekly, always ask how I get so much done? and my standard reply is that I do not “run the streets”. When I get up in the morning I determine what I will work on today, NOT where I will go. My friends have bridge club, book club, women’s club, social quilt group, birthday lunch club, etc. I feel like the little girl in the video – I love everything about staying home after years of working outside the home. I will learn to knit socks this summer!!!

I really liked the video. We need to keep that spirit in mind every day.
I had a friend pass away Monday morning. His wife carried on and did some of the same things they did together the very next day. I hope I am that strong and continue on and still look at the positives in life.
JudyL says
Peggy, that took a whole lot of positive attitude. I hope I can do that too when I face such strong adversity in my life.
Alycia says
Love it!!! And LOVE her hair!!

Thanks for the pep talk Judy! We all need one of those once in awhile. I occasionally have them with myself! The Jessica video was wonderful—what an adorable little girl. Maybe she will grow up to be one of those motivational speakers. Of course as I watched her gyrating up there I couldn’t help but let the negative side of me creep in—What if she steps backwards and fall off the vanity top doing her little dance and song? hmmmm— So, I’m one of those 50/50 types. I see the good—and the not so good. I guess I’m more of a realist. If Jessica is going to have those self esteem moments with herself, I would rather she did it standing in front of the full length bedroom mirror and not be up 3 ft off the floor! What a cutey!
JudyL says
How do you know there’s not a huge beanbag on the floor waiting . . just in case she fell? 🙂 Enjoy the positive and don’t let the negative take that away from you. I probably wouldn’t have let Chad dance on the countertop at that age but lots of parents did lots of things I wouldn’t have done and their kids survived.
Pam says
Most of all, you have learned that happiness comes from within. Many people wait on someone else to make them happy.
Diane says
that was cute–I’m wondering if that is a song she learned in preschool….
makes me want to get up on the bathroom vanity….
but then I’d just see the dust gathered on top of the lights and I’d have to clean it…hahaha
JudyL says
I can honestly say that I wanted to sing the song but had no desire to get up and dance on the vanity! 🙂 Thanks for reminding me that I need to dust my vanity lights! (NOT!)
Kathy says
Love that video! Thanks for all your positive energy that you pass along in blogland!
Mary C says
I’ve been singing Rain rain go away…Jessica’s song is much better. I have granddaughters who make up their own little songs like that. Only they aren’t on the vanity or U-tube. Had to chuckle… Thanks
Linda in MI says
we should all take a look in the mirror every morning and sing/say what we like and thankful for….great video
Scarlett says
LOVED Jessica!
My silly question…how do I forward this on? Never done that before. I have forwarded stuff on email, but not this.
thanks.
Perry says
Love it, love it, love it!!!
