Cooking the Favorites

Stash Report – Week 45

Vince is busy away from home all day with a chili cook-off so I decided to get this week’s cooking done today.  This is going to be a busy week and most of our meals will be things we can heat up easily and not so many sit down family dinners.  I tried to fix things that we all like and things that can be easily saved re-heated.

For tomorrow, we’ll have Sweet & Sour Meatloaf, Scalloped Potatoes, and Corn & Onion Spoonbread.

The dish on the left is the meatloaf.  On the right is Italian Spaghetti Squash, which we’ll have with the Round Steak Parmesan (shown below) on Tuesday night.

And, there are two crockpots of Shipwreck Stew.

But, what I’d been wanting for weeks was a big dish of homemade cinnamon rolls. Vince prefers his without icing.  I made a smaller dish with 5, but Chad and I iced 2 of them and ate them.  Vince doesn’t mind a little icing so he can have all he wants from the big dish but he’ll just scrape the icing off.  YUM!!

No one should go hungry around here for a few days!

I just can’t look at spaghettin squash without laughing and remembering when I blew one up in the microwave, trying to convince my sister that it was a yummy veggie….haven’t made one since either!

I need to visit and have you teach me how to cook. I had purchased meat loaf, instant mash potatoes and microwaved green beans out of the can tonight. LOL

One of the problems I have is I don’t have all my pots and pans and small appliances any more. Guess I’ll have to start stashing those instead of fabric! 🙂

You are so smart to cook ahead. I wish I could do that, but I have a hard time fitting it in on the weekends with all the sewing! LOL

I have gone back to once a week cooking-usually on Mondays. I like your recipes……think I will try the shipwreck stew next!

Dad-rat you Judy…I’m sitting here watching Colts football and drinking my diet soda ..trying not to eat junk before Thanksgiving with my 3 skinny sisters and all I can think about is those iced cinnamon rolls. Boy, those looked good…one of my favorites…I’ll just have to hang in there.

Judy: Love yoiur blog! I know you grind your own wheat, but the cinny rolls look like they may be made with AP flour. Do you make them with whole wheat?
