Stash Report and Goal for Myself

Mid-April and to be quite truthful, I’m a little disappointed in my stash report to date. At the end of 2007, if someone had asked me about my net usage/additions by mid-April, I’d have sworn that I’d have used at least 100 yards net. My net year to date is a piddling 26 yards.  Had I not been doing this extreme stash busting effort, no telling what my net would be .. probably having added well over 100 yards.  This is like comparing bad behavior to worse behavior to make the bad behavior look better though. Things are changing!  I’m setting a goal for myself — I want to have a net use of 150 yards by the end of 2008.  That’s a lofty goal and I was very tempted to not post it til after Paducah but instead, I’m going to post my goal and pray that all of the fabric in Eleanor Burns’ tent is big, flowery prints!  It’s the tone on tone fabrics that get me.

Anyone want to set a goal for stash reduction by the end of 2008?  You don’t even have to share it . . you can just set it and try to meet it.   Maybe we’ll set our goals and those of us who meet them will have one big shopping day in January, 2009 and see how much fabric we can all buy!  NO!!  That’s not a good idea, is it?  Maybe!

My additions this week were not bad.  As always, I have an excuse for every one of them.  I need to make a baby quilt and I found this circus panel at Big Horn Quilts.  I’d already made a quilt from it and it turned out really cute. You can read the story here about that quilt and where it went.

And, if I’m going to make one, I might as well make two so I bought the panels and coordinating fabric to make two circus quilts and I bought another panel so I’d have it when another baby comes along.  And, I bought the backing quilt for the top I picked up at the guild meeting.  That fabric has already been used.

So, here’s my report . . but watch for things to get kicked up a level here with my stashbusting.

Fabric Added This Week – 8 yards
Fabric Added Year to Date – 68 yards

Fabric Used This Week – 5.00 yards
Fabric Used Year to Date – 94.0 yards

Net: 26 yards used year to date
